We were founded in 2018 by Tiasia O’Brien, a third-time business owner, urban sociologist, and public sector professional who spent a decade working at community organizations that led economic development, public arts, and placemaking initiatives.

In 2020, after two years of R&D and in the middle of the pandemic, we launched co:census in alpha as a text message survey platform for digital engagement.

Three years later we are 200+ community members strong, venture-backed (with $3M+ raised), and dozens of projects launched on co:census.
