About Our Speakers
Zoe Siegel
As the Senior Director of Climate Resilience at Greenbelt Alliance, Zoe brings adaptation and climate resilience to the forefront of the programmatic work for the organization. Zoe is passionate about making sure our local communities are able to respond, adapt and thrive in light of current climate threats. She brings experience as a Program Manager for Resilient by Design where she helped lead the year-long effort to come up with innovative strategies for resilience around the region. Zoe holds a Masters in City and Regional Planning from Cornell University and a Bachelor of Arts in Human Geography from the University of British Columbia. She is also a LEED Green Associate. Outside of work Zoe loves hiking with her dog Stella, is an avid traveler, and is a practitioner and teacher of yoga.
Christian Piñeiro
Christian Piñeiro is a transportation policy and government relations professional who serves as a Community Engagement Specialist for the District Department of Transportation (DDOT). In this role, he represents the city as the agency’s Ward 3 liaison and works directly with residents, community groups, Advisory Neighborhood Commissions, DC Council, and the Executive Office of the Mayor to address urgent and complex community concerns. His portfolio includes conducting outreach for capital projects, educating the public on agency programs, and ensuring Ward 3 residents are delivered timely city services.
Prior to working at DDOT, Christian was a policy analyst at the Eno Center for Transportation, a nonpartisan think tank renowned for its global impact on transportation policy and research. He previously held leadership roles serving as an executive board member for the DC Young Professionals in Transportation (YPT) Chapter and a member of the Conference of Minority Transportation Officials (COMTO).
Christian earned his Bachelor of Science in Urban Studies from Towson University and a Master of Public Administration from Texas A&M University’s George Bush School of Government and Public Service. He has presented research at both local and national conferences on transit-oriented development and is a staunch advocate for strengthening urban design and sustainable mobility. He currently lives in Laurel, Maryland with his newlywed wife, Deanna, and dachshund puppy, Pretzel.
Abhijeet Shrivastava
Abhijeet Shrivastava is a Senior Associate for KPMG Climate Data and Technology with extensive experience with public and private agencies across the specializations of sustainable infrastructure design, decarbonization strategies, stakeholder engagement, and corporate climate risk assessments.
His experience encompasses designing climate-resilient and adaptation strategies and assisting clients in measuring and managing carbon emissions, identifying climate related risks and opportunities, as well as developing overall ESG strategy. Prior to joining KPMG, Abhi worked as a senior urban designer with WSP focusing on climate resilient cities, complete neighborhoods design and transportation planning. Abhi has masters in Architecture and Urban Design from Columbia University.
