co:census is now backed by Tubbs Ventures, led by Michael Tubbs

—--November 15, 2023 Tubbs Ventures is now an investor in co:census, committed to ensuring their AI software and support services can aid in building more equitable cities across America.

The team at co:census is thrilled to announce Tubbs Ventures as their newest investor supporting their mission to challenge the status quo of design. Tubbs noted, “As a civic leader, I believe that meaningful engagement can make cities more equitable and inclusive. Tubbs Ventures is proud to back co:census as we believe in their mission of challenging the status quo, and believe this solution should be utilized by cities and design teams across the country”.

co:census launched in 2020, after two years of R&D led by founder, Tiasia O’Brien. After raising a pre-seed round in 2020 and a seed round in 2022 of $1.6M, this additional investment ensures the company can sustain its growth in the coming months. “In the past two months, we have seen a significant increase in interest in co:census. We have grown 10% in revenue since last month and have seen an uptick of 107% in leads since September. Right now, there are over 80 institutions (cities/states/firms) using co:census and we would like to be in the hands of 150 more firms by this time in 2024 ”, says founder Tiasia O’Brien. Tubbs Ventures joins the Google Startup Fund for Black Founders as an investor in co:census in 2023, with additional investment and support from existing investor, New Age Capital.

Next up for co:census is a focus on new features based on our community’s feedback and more urban planning partnerships with entities who are committed to equity in the design space such as the National Organization for Minority Architects (NOMA), Women in Transportation (WTS), and the Conference of Minority Transportation Officials (COMTO).
